The content of my work is often narrative and sequential, linking one image to the next. I use visual threads that reflect the format of a storyboard within each piece of work. The origin of my work comes from a love of drawing life around me. Carrying a sketchbook at all times I capture images of people going about their lives and routines. Viewpoints and textures also play an important role in my work. I use my printmaking skills to transform my sketches. My collagraph prints are created by scratching, tearing and building up the surface of card that when printed create images with beautiful textures and tonal areas contrasting with fine drypoint lines. I am an associate member of Banks Mill Studios, Derby and a member of CIN (Creative Industries Network). I have created work for Derby City Council, The University of Derby and Derby Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
