The origin of my work comes from a love of drawing life around me, at home and on my travels abroad. Carrying a sketchbook at all times I like to capture images of people going about their lives and routines. I use my printmaking skills to transform the sketches into distinctive handmade prints.
Although much of my work has recently been inspired by walks and camping in the Peak District, I have recently begun working on a series of prints relating to my family. It was inspired by an old goods yard in Derby where my granmother lived for a while with her sisters. I have combined different mediums including photographic techniques, monoprint, stencil, paint and drawing.
